On Friday, February 28th, HALO hosted its 15th Annual ArtReach Auction at The Abbott on Cherry Street in downtown Kansas City. Thanks to the amazing support of our generous guests and donors, we raised over $350,000, making this our most successful year yet! We are constantly amazed by the change our HALO community is able to create when we all come together.
The event began with guests being welcomed to a cocktail hour and a silent auction, hosted in the main event space. From there guests moved to their seats and were served dinner and refreshments.
Next our COO, Nicole Gerken, had the honor of recognizing our 2020 Award Winners:
- Volunteers of the Year: Michelle Heath-Fisher and Todd Lowenstein
- Advocates of the Year: Advocate Board and Mary Kemper-Wolf
- Artist of the Year: Julie Arnold
- Supporter of the Year: Veronica Beard and Haverty Family Foundation
What followed was an impactful night filled with inspirational speeches from Mayor Quinton Lucas and our founder Rebecca Welsh, and a live auction. A live dance competition finished out the night with music performed by The Lost Wax Band.
As we reflect on our 2020 ArtReach Auction, we are overwhelmed by how willing supporters are to fund the needs of our HALO youth. The success of this event and the funds raised will ensure a deep and lasting impact for our HALO kids. Every fund raised helps end the cycle of homelessness and provides our youth the tools they need to heal and pursue a brighter future. Love heals. Thank you for helping one more child spend one less day alone. Your support is invaluable!
