In Uganda, HALO supports over 2000 youth annually by providing education, peer support, housing, medical attention, and various accredited courses. One of these courses is Design & Cosmetology, where many students love showing off their beautiful creations! For these young creators, sewing is a transferable skill that will help them receive jobs and break the vicious cycle of homelessness.
The sewing machine is where all of these beautiful designs start. It is a vital machine that gives youth a tangible skill for their future. A huge thank you to the HALO Tribe, who each directly contribute to the funding of these machines in Uganda!
When finished, these beautiful handbags and dresses look absolutely stunning, and youth obtain a skill that puts them on a track towards financial independence. The Design & Cosmetology course, among others at the Uganda Learning Center, gives young people a practical way to apply themselves and build their futures.
