August Volunteers Of The Month

HALO is so thankful for the efforts of every single one of our volunteers. We are inspired by their love, passion, and willingness to serve. Every month, we get the honor of choosing volunteers from both Kansas City and Jefferson City to recognize as our volunteers of the month. Read more about them and the impact that they make on HALO below.

Jefferson City: Our Jefferson City Volunteer of the Month is The Scrappy Quilters. The Scrappy Quilters are a group of ladies from Faith Lutheran Church in Jefferson City. They gather together and make quilts for people in need. Years ago they partnered with HALO and regularly drop off quilts for us to put on the beds of incoming residents to make HALO feel like home. These quilts can then be taken by the resident when they move out of the building so they always have a reminder of the home they had at HALO.

Kansas City: The Kansas City Volunteers of the Month are Caitlin Lester (Right) and Mary Massman (Left). Caitlin served as our Marketing Intern, and Mary served as our Event Intern this summer. During that short time, they have helped support HALO by creating impactful content for our social media platforms like InstagramFacebook and the HALO blog, assisted with event planning and marketing support for #ArtDoesGood and have helped us keep organized with weekly office tasks. They have such a positive attitude and willingness to learn and help. Thank you, both! We so appreciate their support to help one more child spend one less day alone.
