February Volunteers of the Month
HALO is so thankful for the efforts of every single one of our volunteers. We are inspired by their love, passion, and willingness to serve. Every month, we get the honor of choosing volunteers from both Kansas City and Jefferson City to recognize as our volunteers of the month. Read more about them and the impact that they make on HALO below.
HALO is overjoyed to choose Tim & Shannon Thrun as our February volunteers of the month! Tim and Shannon have shown so much love to our HALO youth, specifically when helping move several of our young women into their first apartments. Things like this do not go unnoticed, and we are so appreciative. When asked why they continue to volunteer with HALO, they said "We have helped several young HALO women move into their first apartment. The gratitude and love on their faces is amazing to see. We feel like we are helping our own children move. It means so much more than donating to a cause when you can actually see how you can impact someone." We are so thankful for you, Tim & Shannon!
HALO is delighted to recognize Emilie Verslues as the Jefferson City February volunteer of the month. Emilie is one of our Magnificent Monday Volunteers. She does so much for our residents, always paying attention to every detail. She coordinates food bank deliveries, sorts through the HALO pantry to keep all food donations available to residents, and is our number one room-prep volunteer. She makes sure that rooms are clean, welcoming, and fully stocked when a new resident moves in. We are so thankful for Emilie and her constant smile and positive attitude. She makes HALO a better place!
March Volunteers of the Month
The Annual HALO ArtReach Auction is not possible without incredible volunteers. This month, we honor this impactful group who are committed to helping children in the greatest need.
Examples of day of volunteer roles include set up for silent auction and art items, photography, transportation of supplies/materials, check-in, check-out, preparing won auction items, mobile bidding, live auction presenters, social media, door greeters, bid spotters, and clean-up.
And then we have this phenominal team of people that are also working hard months and months leading up to the event. Examples include graphic design, helping with preparing and mailing save the dates and invitations, providing marketing/promotion support, asking for and securing sponsorships, receipt mailings, to even key roles like Hospitality Chair, Honorary Chairs, and securing silent and live donation items as the Auction and Art Chairs.
Thank you to all who volunteered. You are a part of the HALO Family. We could not do this without you.
