HALO would not be the same without the efforts of every single volunteer that serves the organization. Each month, we have the pleasure of choosing volunteers to recognize as our Volunteers of the Month. Read a bit about both of them below!
Our Kansas City volunteer of the month is Justine Hice. This month, Justine wrapped up her internship at HALO, where she has served as a KC Programs Intern for an entire semester as she completed her degree in Community Health from KU. During her time with HALO, Justine embodied our December life skill of Compassion, throwing birthday parties for our youth, gathering cold-weather supplies, and creating a Resource Wall in our Center to connect youth in need with resources to help them become independent. We are so thankful for the impact Justine made in the lives of youth in the greatest need.
Our Jefferson City volunteer of the month is Lisa Washburn. Lisa allowed the residents to get connected with CrossFit Unstoppable and learn about fitness. She helps us with transportation, office work, babysitting, and duties around the home. Lisa is very patient and gives the HALO staff joy every time she comes in.
