We're excited to introduce you to our new Kansas City interns! Meet Mikaela, Madeline, Athyna and Megan. We can't do what we do without the help of our interns and volunteers. We are so appreciative of them, and inspired by their desire to help others.
Mikaela Papageorgiou, Marketing Intern
I chose to intern with HALO because the way they see the path to ending the cycle of homelessness is unlike any model I have seen before. They treat every person who walks through their doors as a member of their family which is the way to making the world a kinder and brighter place for everyone.
Madeline Wingert, Marketing Intern
I chose to intern with HALO because I fell in love with the mission of providing a foundation of family. As a college student who is studying Nonprofit Leadership and has a big heart for hurting children, I jumped at this opportunity to develop my marketing and general nonprofit skills while helping to fulfill the mission of making sure that one more child spends one less day alone.
Athyna Nguyen, Social Worker Intern
I chose to intern at HALO in Kansas City because their mission stood out to me. After meeting the team and touring the learning center I knew it was an environment I wanted to work in. HALO’s work with Art Therapy is also astounding and I like that I get to have a nice balance of social work and art work. I am most excited to work with everyone involved and craft a really unique learning experience for myself.
Megan Manestar, Program Intern
I am excited to intern at HALO because of the impact they have on this community and the values they hold true to. I hope to gain more experience in my field of study in psychology. I look forward to working with the youth in the community and to be able to help them in any way that I can. Overall, I am excited to be a part of HALO for my internship.
