HALO Honors June Volunteers of the Month

Jefferson City Volunteer of the Month:
Emilie Verslues

Emilie is dependable and responsible. She goes above and beyond with every task she completes. She volunteers on a consistent weekly basis and fills in extra times when needed. Emilie is always pleasant and comes in with a smile. The girls look forward to seeing her and visiting with her each week. She makes the HALO home a better place.

This group of volunteers have been doing art & life skills workshops with our HALO teenagers every Wednesday night for about a year. When HALO staff were at capacity and unsure if they could continue this art workshop every week, this fab five decided to step up and lead the class themselves. Each of them have taken HALO’s Trauma Informed Care training, and implement trauma-informed practices at every workshop. They take turns leading the discussion on the monthly life skill, showing how to do the art project, and support each other in and outside of HALO.

Thank you Brittany, Derek, Elise, Allison, Sam, and Emilie for empowering youth in the greatest need!
