May Volunteers of the Month

At HALO, our strong volunteer team helps us reach more kids who need our support every month. Thanks to our May Volunteers of the Month, we have implemented more life skill programs for HALO youth who attend our Learning Centers and provide the foundation of a family to children who need us most.
Barb Markway is our Jefferson City HALO Volunteer of the Month. She has led different art projects with the girls in the HALO Girls Home to help them express themselves. Her lessons have focused on art as stress relief. The youth have loved getting to know her and always appreciate the snacks she brings! Thank you, Barb, for showing up for HALO kids in a warm and inviting way so they can start the healing process through art.
Our Kansas City Volunteer of the Month is Todd Lowenstein. Todd has been consistently involved in our Tuesday night Kansas City Learning Center program for years! This has allowed him to build great connections with HALO youth, which is shown when their faces light up every time he walks into the door. Todd also provides snacks when he volunteers, a small yet appreciated gesture. Thank you, Todd, for consistently showing up for HALO youth as a positive role model for HALO kids in Kansas City!
