Here at HALO, we have been blown away by the love and support shown by our volunteers and staff during the COVID-19 crisis. The passion and kindness shown to our youth is inspiring. Every month, we get the honor of choosing volunteers of the month from both Kansas City and Jefferson City. This May, we want to recognize two very special women at HALO.
Our Kansas City volunteer of the month is Amy Scharosch!
Amy has been dedicated to HALO, collecting a huge amount of supplies for our partner, the Salvation Army Children's Shelter. She was able to do this by reaching out to friends, family, and neighbors to get what she could, and then purchased much of it herself. Thank you for your kindness and support Amy!
HALO would like to thank one of our long time staff members, Antwanette Talley. Antwanette has been a constant figure in the lives of our residents since 2018 when she started with us as an intern. Her experience, kindness, and positive attitude have helped countless youth in our programs. Antwanette has built the foundation of a family in the home. She has been a friend, sister, and the voice of reason for so many of our girls in the program. We will miss her, but we wish her all the best in her new adventures!
