Middle School Students Empowered HALO Kids

"I hope this makes your day just a little better."
"Hopefully, you love this bracelet."
"You are loved."

These were just some of the messages from Ms. Male's Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) middle school students, who made friendship bracelets for HALO kids all over the world! The bracelets and messages made by the compassionate 7th-grade students at Turner Middle School (Kansas City, KS) will be placed in welcome baskets for kids or teens when they first come to HALO. In collaboration with Youth Volunteer Corps, HALO brought this family-friendly volunteer project into the classroom to empower the students to make an impactful and positive difference in a HALO youth's life!

After a brief overview of HALO and youth homelessness in the Kansas City area, the students at Turner Middle School started making various fun and heartfelt friendship bracelets for all ages and types of kids. Even a Chiefs bracelet was made!
