Each summer, our HALO staff work tirelessly to provide our youth with fun and informative experiences they will never forget. Whether it's a day at the zoo, an afternoon at an art museum, or enjoy some ice cream, we want each summer to be something our youth can cherish, even years from now. Before school starts back up in a few short weeks, take a look at our favorite snapshots of the summer!
Museum of Modern Art
HALO youth visited the Jefferson City Museum of Modern Art. Artists like Purvis Young, Aboudia, and Mersuka Dopazo stand out, leaving lasting impressions!
Rabbit Hole Museum
Youth visited the Rabbit Hole Museum in North Kansas City. They explored tunnels, climbed into caves, slid down fireman's poles, and read their favorite books!
Day at the Ballpark
Jefferson City youth spent an afternoon at a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game! This was their first baseball game and turned out to be a very memorable experience. Afterwards, they celebrated with shakes and fries.
Fun at the Zoo
The summer heat didn't stop HALO youth from having fun at the zoo! While walking around the Kansas City Zoo, youth loved exploring animals like penguins, parrots, sloths, turtles, and more.
Workout with Marcel
Even during the summer, HALO youth stayed active and resilient by working out with HALO Volunteer, Marcel.
Science City
Youth thrived with hands-on learning at Science City! Youth learned about electricity creation, physical energy, water direction and more, all while having fun in the process.
Summer at HALO always goes by way too fast. From exploring local museums and shooting hoops to simply enjoying time together, youth are building memories that last a lifetime. Thanks to our passionate HALO community and generous supporters, we can continue to provide youth with vibrant, memorable summers they'll never forget.
