At HALO, we believe that healing and growth can begin with a sense of community. Central Church has provided a supportive community for the Jefferson City Learning Center every week through their generous giving and endless support. Every week, they have provided youth with the opportunity to use their gym to play basketball, a hobby which they all love, along with meals.
Basketball plays an important role in bringing our youth together. Central Church provides a gym where the boys can play, compete, and be themselves. To them it is more than just a sport, it is filled with moments of joy, laughter, and building connections. The basketball court is a place they form friendships, build confidence, and make memories.
We are especially thankful for the meals Central Church shares with us. Sitting down together to eat may seem like a simple act, but it is also a reminder that someone cares. These shared meals create a space for connection and conversation. Sharing a meal gives the youth a sense of love and support that lasts far beyond the meal itself.
