The Kansas City HALO Learning Center and Homes recently had the fortune of hosting the Crown Heights Christian Church Volunteer Group. The volunteers put their compassion into action by helping prepare the Kansas City Boys Home for the youth. During the two days they spent with HALO, they cleaned up around the homes, wrote handmade cards, made friendship bracelets and helped prepare meals for the youth. While volunteering, the group from Crown Heights Christian Church received education about youth homelessness in order to be the best advocates for children who need it most. These volunteers provided the foundation of a family for HALO youth through their service. Empowering youth to help other youth can create a lasting impact on our communities and the world around us.
