Anastasia O'Brien (Kansas City) - Volunteer Management Intern
Anastasia has done a phenomenal job encompassing everything that comes with a volunteer program for a nonprofit organization. As HALO is rooted and fueled by the love of volunteers, Anastasia spent the semester improving all aspects of the volunteer program so that community members can have a positive and impactful experience when they step through HALO doors. She oversaw our youth volunteer program, ClubHALO, and helped launch our ClubHALO Junior Board for 2025. She created meaningful content and blog posts to celebrate the amazing volunteers who gave their time, talents, and treasures for HALO youth. Anastasia did an exceptional job owning her internship while being driven by the mission of HALO.
Regina Jayakody (Kansas City) - Marketing Intern
Regina has made invaluable contributions through her creativity and dedication. From crafting engaging social media posts to writing insightful blogs and designing eye-catching E-blasts, her work has helped elevate our marketing efforts and connect with our audience.
Lexi Buechter (Jefferson City) - Marketing & Event Planning Intern
Lexi has such a positive attitude and made a huge impact at HALO this semester. She single-handedly planned the Thanksgiving holiday party for HALO Youth in Jefferson City and helped come up with so many special ways to make the holidays feel like home for HALO kids. Lexi is amazing, and we are so grateful we got to share her semester with her!
Michaela Cunningham (Kansas City) - Program Coordinator Intern
Michaela positively impacted the lives of HALO youth throughout the semester by providing individual guidance and leadership during HALO programs. Michaela jumped right in at the start of the semester and was a natural fit for the HALO team. She spent much of her time at HALO creating and leading projects that helped our youth learn valuable life skills such as Respect, Confidence, Integrity, and Leadership. Outside of working with the youth, Michaela dedicated so much time and energy toward creating lesson plans for youth in our HALO homes. Michaela is on the path to becoming a Doctor of Occupational Therapy and used her knowledge and resources to create fun and engaging programs that will teach older youth the skills they need to live independently – everything from how to keep their home and clothing clean to budgeting, shopping for groceries, communicating professionally, and so much more! Michaela had an immediate positive impact on our youth, and the effort she put into creating these Instrumental Activities of Daily Living lesson plans will continue to put HALO youth on the path to a positive future for years to come.
Bingqing Xiang (Jefferson City) - Operations Intern
Bing has worked in many different areas of HALO Operations this semester. She has worked to help us attain grants and connect with donors about HALO events, providing awareness and financial stability for HALO. Bing used her intelligence to make processes more efficient throughout her time at HALO.
Georgia Kuntz (Jefferson City) - Marketing Intern
Georgia has mastered the HALO voice and created social media posts for HALO this semester. She spent hours reaching out to different Jefferson City businesses to inquire about ways they could help provide HALO youth with meals, and has connected us with lots of community members and donors. Georgia always has a positive attitude and a smile on her face, and has truly been a joy to work with this semester.
