Last night with Cornerstones of Care, HALO successfully implemented another lesson plan from The DeBruce Foundation! Our youth paired up with each other or a volunteer to complete the activity of back-to-back drawings. Since both partners are “blind” to what the other partner sees, this activity can be challenging and relies heavily on leadership skills to complete the task successfully.

Today at Fairfax Academy, we practiced creating abstract art and featured the works of Wassily Kandinsky. We had a larger turnout of youth participants compared to previous weeks, and it was fascinating to witness their enthusiasm and engagement with the activity. The final products showcased diverse styles and compositions, which was a sight to behold.

In October, HALO conducted an Art & Life Skill program at Phoenix Family with a group of Leadership Lions. The children had a wonderful time customizing their lions and discussing the qualities of a great leader. We also talked about how they can demonstrate leadership in their daily lives. To add some fun, we brought along some googly eyes, which turned out to be a hit among the children.

Thanks to our donors and volunteers! HALO provided art supplies and creative opportunities to our youth. Donate art supplies or volunteer in our workshops to bring joy to others. Click the link to help now!
