New Machines Create New Opportunities
The youth group at Solid Rock Church in Jefferson City, Missouri, raised $2,300 to provide new electric sewing machines for HALO youth at the Uganda Learning Center. The students and team are grateful for their fundraising efforts and support.
Their support also made it possible to purchase an over-locking machine, which has been a long-term need at the Learning Center. With these new resources, students can continue building their skills, gaining hands-on experience, and creating more opportunities for their futures.
Before and After

The new equipment is already changing how HALO youth in the Uganda Learning Center learn. With five electric sewing machines and an over-locking machine, students can now work on garments from cutting to finishing all in one place. The machines also make it easier to work with both hard and soft fabrics, making their work more efficient.
This is just one of the many ways youth are learning and growing at the Uganda Learning Center. The Learning Center serves 1,200+ youth annually through 200+ life skill programs, peer support groups, therapy services, and entrepreneurship programs. Youth can also attend an accredited vocational institution offering Salon & Cosmetology, Fashion & Design, Computer, and Dance courses.
