Thank You Youth Volunteer Corps!

HALO was so happy to have Youth Volunteer Corps back for their fourth year! We are always so impressed with how much they are able to help move the HALO mission forward.

Over the course of two weeks, HALO welcomed two groups of youth volunteers in July. Volunteers worked hard around the Learning Center and Headquarter spaces in a variety of ways.

Youth Volunteer Corps was able to add a little bit more shine to HALO spaces by sweeping, organizing, and pulling weeds. Cleaning tasks can be a little tedious, but they are some of the most meaningful in providing a welcoming space for HALO kids to feel at ease! With support from volunteers, HALO staff are able to be fully present and provide outstanding care to our youth.

Art and youth volunteerism is the foundation of HALO, so Youth Volunteer Corps got a little creative too! The teens painted wooden houses to be used for HALO's Annual Art Auction. Youth Volunteer Corps also participated in Change That Counts. By collecting spare change, each kid helped HALO keep our promise that being a HALO child means never having to worry about your next meal. From their efforts, HALO can provide over 275 meals to youth in need all around the world.

Our continued partnership with the Youth Volunteer Corps has only brought positive experiences for HALO kids along with the youth volunteers. Back in 2005, HALO started with kids that wanted to help end childhood homelessness. Today, our youth volunteer program, ClubHALO, continues in that pursuit to empower youth to show the world how powerful young people are. Within ClubHALO, members are educated about HALO, youth homelessness, and volunteerism.

If you are a compassionate kid or teen, or you know one, put your compassion into action!
