Meet Molly. Before the children in the homes are taken back to their families, reconciliation between the children and their home communities needs to occur. After children are resettled, contact is kept so that we know how they are doing. We call, and we visit. Molly is our Resettlement Coordinator. She loves, gives hope and encouragement to our children as they persevere and move back into their communities.
Molly shares, “I went through the same situation and program as the children in the homes. At age ten, I joined Mengo Home. My mentors gave me hope. Now I try and give the children hope and to bring smiles to their faces–Give hope to make something out of themselves. If everything is there except hope, then they feel they have nothing. I give hope because when you have hope, that’s how you keep going.
I want people to know how much I love. ‘I love to love’ I love to love unconditionally despite of anything-even if they’re annoying me or hard to deal with. My actions show them I love them, and I want to love each person no matter how hard it is to do. It’s healthy and important.”
