June was a fun month for Jefferson City Halo’s Transitional Living Program! On June 21, all three girls, all three babies, and two Halo staffers loaded into the big van and headed to Kansas City. First stop: Worlds of Fun! The girls had a blast riding rides and water slides while Elle and Lauren watched babies. After a full day of fun, we went back to Elle’s parent’s farm for a delicious home-cooked supper and a night of girl talk. The next morning after breakfast we headed to the Plaza for a shopping day. Everyone had a great time but we were EXHAUSTED! All of the girls and babies slept the whole way home!
July 16 marked the first anniversary of the TLP. In our first year we were able to expand from two residents to three, we celebrated the high school graduation of one of our girls, and we watched the girls and their children grow mentally and physically. But, most importantly, we became a family. We are all very excited to see what the next year will bring!
