2014 ArtReach Art Auction Artist Spotlight: William Rose

It is a very lively and exciting time as the 9th Annual HALO ArtReach Auction is just around the corner. In this last week leading up to the event, HALO volunteers are putting the finishing touches on every detail and securing all of the fantastic artwork. The event will include artwork from local and regional artists but also from the very talented HALO youth.

One of the regional artists that was kind enough to donate a piece is William Rose. Originally from Kansas, his art has been featured in local collections and shows, but has also been featured in many magazines and in the 2012 film, The Forger, starring Hollywood favorites like Josh Hutcherson and Hayden Panettiere. William’s work has gained much popularity from his intricate and detailed oil paintings and incredibly true-to-life drawings.

This Friday, Feb. 28, you will have the opportunity to see dozens of beautiful pieces, including this piece by William. This charcoal drawing depicts a dancer and her ballet flats, which focuses on detailed shading and strong but delicate lines. The dark areas bring out a beautiful translucence in the piece, bringing this dancer to life.

William is one of many artists providing art for the evening and we are so thankful to everyone who donated their work for this auction. This allows HALO to continue to empower youth in need to become contributing members of their communities.

Although some seats are sold out, there are still available spots at this event, shaping up to be the biggest HALO ArtReach Auction to date. Don’t forget to secure your ticket for this event and to make your mark on this fabulous night!
